- Which document formats are supported?
- The tool accepts DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, and EPUB 2/3 files. It does not accept legacy DOC, XLS, or PPT files, macro-enabled Office files, ODF, CBZ, or renamed generic ZIP archives.
- Are my documents or EPUB books uploaded?
- No. Validation, extraction, previews, and ZIP creation run locally in your browser. BaseToolbox does not upload the documents or extracted images.
- Will the extracted images match the original source files?
- The tool exports image resources stored in the Office or EPUB package. Authoring software may have resized, recompressed, converted, or removed metadata before storing an image.
- Why can some extracted images be downloaded but not previewed?
- Browsers reliably preview content-signature-verified JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and BMP. Verified TIFF, SVG, EMF, and WMF may be preserved for download without an inline preview.
- Why is a media entry marked unsupported?
- Unknown formats and files whose bytes do not match their claimed image type remain visible as unsupported. They are not previewed or included in downloads.
- Can I extract images from several documents together?
- Yes. Select up to 10 mixed DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, and EPUB files totaling no more than 200 MB. They are processed serially and grouped by document.
- Which download options are available?
- Download one image, a ZIP for one document, one combined ZIP with separate document folders, or separate ZIP files for each completed document. Retained output is capped at 128 MB per batch.
- What safety limits apply to a document package?
- Each input is bounded before extraction. The tool rejects encrypted, ZIP64, multi-disk, structurally inconsistent, oversized, or excessively large packages and never uploads them as a fallback.
