Spreadsheet Data Quality Checker

Check CSV, TSV, or XLSX data for missing cells, duplicate rows, mixed column types, locale-ambiguous numbers, and potential numeric outliers. Every result is deterministic, reviewable, and kept in your browser.

Saved sessions

Add a CSV, TSV, or XLSX file

The file stays in this browser. Legacy .xls, macros, and formula recalculation are not supported.

Private, deterministic data checks

The source file, inferred types, evidence rows, quality report, saved session, and exports stay in your browser and are excluded from BaseToolbox analytics.

Current limitations
  • The tool supports CSV, TSV, and modern XLSX, but not legacy .xls, macros, or desktop-Excel formula recalculation.
  • Outlier rules identify unusual numeric values but cannot decide whether a valid business exception is an error.
  • Mixed-type and ambiguous-number findings depend on the number locale you explicitly select.
  • Browser storage may be cleared or reclaimed; private browsing may not preserve the source or saved report.

How spreadsheet quality checks work

1

Import and choose assumptions

Select a worksheet and the number format used by the source.

2

Run deterministic checks

The browser counts missing cells, duplicate typed rows, type evidence, ambiguous numbers, and potential outliers.

3

Review evidence and export

Inspect severity, affected counts, and source row numbers before exporting CSV, XLSX, JSON, or Markdown.
